searching for uncrowded places...

Last week I finally bought myself a tripod so I could actually take some outfit shots by myself outdoors around campus. The tricky part is just trying to find uncrowded places where I can take pictures and not feel too awkward. I decided that I will try to take photos on Saturday mornings (by which I really mean around 11:30 or 12 - I'm not an early riser!) when many people have either gone home for the weekend or aren't up and out and about yet.

I found a building that I thought would be fairly empty, but there might have been some sort of event going on because a couple people walked by. I hoped I would look like I knew what I was doing, fiddling around with my camera and tripod (in reality I have no particular photography experience - ha).

Any tips for taking outfit photos in somewhat public places?

This outfit is very comfy, but I think the red pants make it still look stylish. Style + comfort is definitely a winner for me :)

I know the feeling! I used to constantly search for places to take pics without being watched by tons of random strangers. It was actually a selling point on the house we chose this summer, that it had a tell lit private alley behind it. It is where I take almost all my pics now. I hope you find your perfect uncrowded place as well.

Do you live on campus? I prop my tripod next to the window and stand next to the window so that the light can hit me just right. (latest post for an example).

As for taking photos on campus.. I get too nervous.

@Amber Rose, yes I do live on campus. I've tried taking some indoor pictures, but I never seem to like indoor ones as much. I don't have a great location in my room, but I will have to keep experimenting :)

Cool pics, very natural and carefree - and you have a lovely campus to take the shots at!
